My New Pokémon TCG Scarlet & Violet: Twilight Masquerade Booster Pack: Dragapult Cover

Here is another update to my Toys & Games collection. However, it’s not really a full update of my collection, but rather more, I got a Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Twilight Masquerade booster pack as a gift from my beloved loved one. I am so glad to see that my Pokémon TCG continues to grow, and I hope that by then, my new collection will have already overtaken that of my old collection in the 2000s. I look forward to playing the cards in this new booster pack, and eventually completing the whole set as soon as possible.

The photo shoot looks really nice, and it’s probably one of the best ones I took. I hope to take more photos with new TCG sets coming soon!

My Otaku Merchandise Collection As of 7/16/2024 + Funko Pops

For some odd reason, I completely forgot to show off some of my otaku merch that I have. As you can see, this is a collection, that even though it’s not the biggest, is still a huge collection nonetheless. It’s a collection in the making for over eight years, and as time goes by, I hope to continue collecting more otaku merch that makes me smile, and make my otaku wonderland appeal even better. I won’t lie that when I see these otaku goodies of mine, I can’t help but a happy, and yet, sad nostalgic feeling of the past. Simply because these otaku goodies in front of my eyes symbolize a time when my life was a lot freer, simple, and less intense and chaotic compared to today. Of course, that doesn’t mean things have gotten worse, in fact, the contrary, this otaku vibing has been the best ever for me, and the best is still yet to come. Simply put, things were just simpler, and like the saying goes in life, “the beginning, is usually the most fondly remembered”. A lot of these collected otaku goodies, mean a lot to me, and some of them were given to me by my loving family. I hope to collect some more in the future. The Funko Pops, Tobi Mask, and Travel Mugs are my favorite.

So far, I do like the photo shoot that I took. The angle, quality, and placement are on point, and my merch looks great in this picture.

My Gunpla Box Collection As of 7/15/2024 + Reorganized And Updated

As I have said before, after my anime and manga figure boxes, comes next is my Gunpla box collection. Similar to my anime and manga figure boxes, these boxes were reorganized and made to look nicer with an improved photo shoot for my picture. It looks WAY better than compared to my previous photo shoot. The boxes are perfectly stacked, and placed the right way.

For some reason, there is something about Gunpla boxes. There is nothing more satisfying than building your own Gunpla model and completing it with your own bare hands. When you finish building the model, you stare at it and remind yourself that it was YOU who built those Gunpla models. Through the use of patience, stamina, creative custom add-ons, and problem-solving skills when the hard part happens. Then, you look at the box sets, and the boxes look really pleasant. It kinda symbolizes a feeling of dedication for an awesome collection and an awesome hobby. Also, they are nicely designed for a simple box sets. I hope to collect more in the future! My favorite is the Quanta 00 RG.

Legendary Anime Studio Gainax Files For Bankruptcy

On the 40th anniversary of studio Gainax’s foundation, the studio behind the making of many epics and well known legendary anime, such as Gunbuster, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, and Gurren Lagaan, have filed for bankruptcy in Japan. They have been acknowledged by the Tokyo District Court. Surely cementing the end of their existence as an anime studio. Another legend from the anime industry disappears into history, and will now only live as a memory for many otakus of the anime industry, as Gainax dies as a hero for the anime industry.

Anime Review: Uchuu no Senshi (宇宙の戦士) 02/2/2022

NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS OLD! IT WAS RECOVERED THROUGH ARCHIVED FILES!

Uchuu no Senshi (also known as Starship Troopers in English) is a 1980s Sci-fi Mecha OVA Anime created by Sunrise. Set in a futuristic setting where humanity finds itself in a conflict against aliens who pose a threat to the world and potential all of humanity itself. Johnny Rico who is the main protagonist of the show enlists himself in the military with his crush Carmencita enlisting herself in the military as his main reason to join the military. Together him with select crew mates are deployed into the most notorious training facility, and thus they work their way all the way through the pain and suffering from the notorious training. It is based on the actual 1959 novel written by Robert A. Heinlein, who died before the first part of the OVA was released. In other words, you can say this OVA is a tribute and dedication to him, as even the first episode of the OVA literally stated “in the memory of Robert A. Heinlein.”

Uchuu no senshi’s concept sounds interesting at first hand and sounds great on paper, and truth be told they did quite a good job with the concept and premise. Unfortunately, this Anime suffers greatly from too little and too late. What do I mean exactly? It’s very simple, you make the first 4 episodes to a very slow paced experience and then finally put all the action squeezed into the two last episode. This is an unfortunate issue with the Anime. An even harder problem is Sunrise tried their utmost best to adapt a very epic critically acclaimed Sci-fi novel into a modest budget OVA Anime with very extreme limits and budget problems for this already doomed project. While hardly a disaster and far from being a bad Anime at all, its legacy certainly speaks volume as here we are 3 decades and a half after its release, and it has mostly faded into obscurity.
