The Foreign Movie Tariffs: What’s Going on And Should us Otakus be Worried?

Whether you like him or hate him, we can all agree on President Donald Trump’s positive achievements that he’s made in regard to freedom of speech and protection from internet censorship imposed by European governments. The first starting with the corrupt payment processors and his executive order in tackling their corruption. Secondly, his hostile and bold opposition to the insane internet censorship and surveillance that has been occurring in Europe and parts of the world lately. Regardless of your political position, right, or left, we can all agree on the dangerous consequences of censorship, corruption, and mass surveillance. Of course, that’s just my opinion.

Unfortunately, there’s one glaring issue that a lot of people, including myself, can’t stand, and that’s the tariffs. The policy of tariffs has become a major issue for us, the American otaku. Ever since, the president has begun his tariffs’ policy worldwide, with the topic being specifically about Japan, the life of otaku investment on many specific goods like figures, cosplay, and other stuff have been GREATLY disrupted. From the specific tariffs on certain sections, to tariffs on other nations that contribute to making and importing these goods, and finally, the removal of the De Minimus rule that has caused a MAJOR disruption among Japanese companies that export these goods to the United States. Now, another major issue is occurring for the American otaku, and it’s the topic of foreign made films, the potential tariffs, and the impact it will have on the movie industry, but, exactly what’s going on, and should we be worried?

Day of Two Anniversaries: Animangemu’s Launch and Animangemu’s First Article (2022-2024) & (2023-2024)

Ladies and gentlemen, today is an important day for Animangemu. Because exactly on this day, two years ago, and a year ago, something happened that was significant for Animangemu, and those two anniversaries, are pretty much what helped Animangemu being kicked into full gear. The second anniversary was when I launched Animangemu as a website, and believe me, how it looked two years ago looks nothing like the Animangemu that you see today. In fact, when I launched Animangemu in 2022, its logo looked completely different, and this is how it looked.

I have come a long way since reinventing Animangemu’s logo, and at the time when I launched my website, I solely focused on anime, manga, and video games. That’s why if you see a lot of leftovers AMG letters, that’s because I was intending on making Animangemu solely focusing on those three. Of course, as time goes on, I became more educated, more knowledgeable, and developed new passions that were a part of the hemisphere, such as Tokusatsu, electronics, and airsoft. Eventually, other mediums from toys & games, live action, and books that involved the otaku culture, became a part of Animangemu. Finally, the otaku culture, the biggest definer of my brand, was added as a lot of interests of the otaku culture reside in this hemisphere. Looking back, It feels nice to see how much things have changed, and it will only get better.

This you see right here was my first article published on Animangemu, (excluding the previous articles before 2023). If you click on the picture, it will direct you to my first article. Looking back, Animangemu’s early goal was to be the best news source and provider for all things otaku, but, eventually, one of the plans was to expand my brand, and become holder of all narrative of everything otaku. News feeds still exist, but now only as an opinion source rather than a general article, and I did that experiment with the controversial Assassination Classroom ban by a Florida and Wisconsin school, and it was a HUGE success. Everyone became interested in it, and my view count just spiked like crazy. Eventually, I can’t wait to make my own self-published opinion articles on many topics that revolve around the otaku hemisphere. Looking back at this, I can feel like I have come a long way since I first started, and I feel pretty emotional knowing that this was a work of mine that is still running after a year and more. I thank God for this beautiful blessing, and I can’t wait to start more in the future. Don’t worry my fellow otakus, more greatness awaits soon God Willing.

Thank you for reading this article, and going down the memory lane with me. Stay tuned for more!

A Message From Animangemu: 2023 in Review And a Happy New Year 2024

First, I would like to say a happy new year from me here at Animangemu. Firstly, I want to let you all know that this year was truly a year of many changes in my life, and it was tremendous. For me, 2023 was a year when many passions of the old have returned to life, and new ones entered. Where new expansions for my passions were created, and when an identity of being otaku was fully established. This was a year of many firsts for me. Doing research on the otaku culture that core relates to anime and manga, where I displayed amazing video game videos and live streams. Where I showed off incredible collections of toys & games like Pokémon cards, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Bakugan, and Magic The Gathering. Many unbelievable live action figures from tokusatsu like Kamen Rider were displayed, and plenty of otaku USA magazines and game informer and plenty of more books to read and show off. A bunch of otaku merch such as Gunpla models, figurines, collectibles, and so much more. News feeds, a ranking of otaku popularity by state through the use of journalistic research. Stunning photography of all the goodies taken, cool video editing and design improvements, visiting my first ever Comicon and cosplaying, and, the enjoyable amount of time I spent with my what I love. I can safely say that 2023 has been one of the most revolutionary years of my life, and probably the most revolutionary year ever, in terms of my otaku passion, surpassing even previous years like 2011, 2016, and 2019. You know, only a few years ago, I would have never imagined seeing my brand come to life. All of this idea building that was stuck in my head, finally turned real, and I give all the Glory and Honor to Almighty God. I truly look forward to 2024, and unlike 2023, 2024 will definitely be more consistent, and I will be upgrading and expanding my content for the follow year. Everyone, I would like to say thank you to all of you for enjoying my content, and stay tuned for more in the future. See ya later again on January 22!
