Truth be told, this movie still feels like it only came out yesterday. In fact, I’d argue that this bold realization of Maquia’s 5th anniversary symbolizes the fact that 2010’s culture is truly all behind us now. Regardless of whether you enjoyed it or not.

If you are eager to relive a bit of 2018, then I have some news for you. According to sources, Maquia is going to commemorate the fifth anniversary with a revival screening across Japan in 75 theaters for a limited time, eight days from February 23 to March 2, 2023.

Maquia: When the Promised Flowers Bloom is a 2018 anime film directed by Mari Okada. A famous director known for her previous works such as True Tears (2008), Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (2011), and The Anthem of the Heart (2015). The film was released on February 24, 2018. The film grossed 350 million yen (2.67 million USD) from its domestic theatrical run. The film earned a positive reception both domestically and internationally.
