Look guys, I get tired of repeating the same topic over and over again, but, this issue is truly becoming a major problem. 2025 has been a year of massively brutal attacks on the freedom of expression regarding anime and manga. The truth is, the issue has become so tiring and bothersome that I honestly can’t stand reporting stuff like the one I’m talking about right now. Yes, once again, censorship is involved, and, like previously, this one involves the obscene material violating age verification. So, what’s going on?
If you’ve been following me for a while now, chances are, you’ve heard of the rampant attacks on freedom of the internet, as well as attacks directly involving anime and manga. It first happened in Texas, currently happening in Michigan, and, my state Florida. Yes, my home state Florida is having another epicenter of anime and manga controversy. Two years after when Assassination Classroom got banned in a school county library back in 2023. Now my beloved Sunshine State enters into another controversy and involves Nutaku, an adult gaming platform and Segpay, a secure online payment processor. So… What’s going on?
The state of Florida has filed two lawsuits against Nutaku, a company known to bolster a large arsenal of adult themed anime games. Segpay, a payment processor known for serving adult platforms, is also being sued as well.
James Uthmeier, the attorney general of Florida, has claimed that the companies failed to comply with the state’s age verification digital ID law, HB3, which, according to the law, mandates websites to confirm Florida-based visitors are at least 18 before viewing adult content.
On an interesting note, Nutaku is operated by Aylo, the same parent company that operates numerous large adult websites, with Pornhub being the most notable property of Aylo.
As the lawsuit looms, James Uthmier stated that his office is suing both Aylo and Segpay, according to the statement: “a firm that bills itself as a high-risk merchant processor specializing in adult entertainment.”
This isn’t the only complaints about Segpay. In fact, the case gets further for arguments over that the company bears responsibility for age verification because it processes payments for the adult gaming site xh.lustyheroes.com, owned by Gethins Ltd., another defendant accoring to them.
The complaint by the Florida Attorney General is available to read here. I will only be talking about the important parts of the complaint that directly mentions and relates to anime and manga. If you want to read the whole script, then please click the link you see in the description. If you want a quick summary, then it’s just a complaint over the safety of children, the dangers of porn addiction, the law of what is considered material that violates the law, companies refusal to comply to Florida’s state law and it’s consequences.

The rest of the description after this one explains the law of what’s labeled as harmful content for minors, the actions performed, and the violations and fines for the companies if they were to not comply with the law. Here’s more of the descriptions that mention Nutaku.
Nutaku.net does not require any age verification to access content. On the home
page, there are several thumbnails that feature video game characters that look like Anime or
Hentai and are in various stages of undress. Some of the characters have their breasts exposed and
are in sexually suggestive positions. Some of the games cost money to play while others are free.
A few of the free game titles include “Lust Goddess,” “Harem Heroes,” “Aeons Echo,” “Kinky
Cats,” and “Horny Legends.”Kinky Cats, for example, has a thumbnail image of a topless woman laying down
with her legs spread. The home page for Kinky Cats had three topless women and one woman in
a bathing suit across the top of the screen. To the left is a video screen where a user can watch
several clips from the game. The clips feature oral sex, anal sex, masturbation, and group sex. On
the right appears a link to “Play Free Now.” The link asks a user to create an account, but the site
merely requires an email address to create said account and access more content. The Kinky Cats game features a simulated video that made it appear as if a user is
waking up to a topless woman sitting on top of the user. The video then has the character expose
her vagina and asks the user to touch her. The audio of the game is the sound of a woman moaning
in sexual enjoyment. The video goes on to show full penetrative sex before the woman climaxes
with an orgasm. The game then requires users to fix up a night club. The home screen shows the
interior of the nightclub with a nude girl on the stairs and another nude woman on a couch
masturbating. The game encourages the user to text with other girls while being rewarded with
images of a sexual nature. The more texting with a character the more perverse the pictures
become.Defendants’ publishing or distribution of material through Nutaku.net violates
Florida’s Age Verification laws and FDUTPA.
The final paragraph of the complaint is the conclusion of the company’s violation of the law.
Guys, I’m sorry, but I literally had to chuckle a little bit of laughter… ESPECIALLY WHEN THE HENTAI WAS MENTIONED!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Okay, so I’m going to give my HONEST, brutal opinion on what’s happening between Nutaku and Florida. As a Floridian, I can’t help but find this case so utterly dumb. Now, disclaimer here, I don’t support the exposure of pornography for minors at all. I am 100% against it and I believe that minors should be kept safe from such material. Not only that, but, I am also well aware of the dangerous effects that pornography causes when consumption goes unchecked. So, before you call me a pro porn addict that has no care for basic morality or safety for the children, then you are dead wrong. As you read, I support keeping children safe from pornographic material. So, what’s the issue then?
The issue isn’t so much about keeping porn away from minors, the issue is how governments are doing this, and honestly, as someone from the great state of Florida, this has to be one of the DUMBEST cases I have ever seen, and what’s even more hilarious is, it’s once again directly aimed towards anime and manga. What I find ridiculous is how the lawsuit is simply against one company when every five seconds, a new porn website is created out of demand from these so called “gooners”. So eventually, this turns into a game of cat and mouse, and becomes an endless loop hole of law firms chasing these porn companies that don’t comply, and eventually, more censorship is enforced to the point that people will lose their freedom over this crusade against online pornographic material, which we know is a BIG fat lie…
You see, my complaint stems from the fact that ever since this whole stupid age verification garbage began, I’ve seen nothing but censorship after censorship from governments and other corrupt organizations or functional firms like credit card companies. What makes me angry is the state of Florida falsely proclaims itself as the last bastion of freedom from censorship and big governments, and yet, pass a law so stupid and utterly dumb like this one, aka HB3 into state law. HB3 is originally meant to enforce an age verification law over the access of online pornography from the specific website. Companies like, Xhamster, XVideos, and Spankbang have now enacted requirements to access their website. Meanwhile, leading porn website, Pornhub, has blocked access from the state of Florida over opposition to its age verification law, joining numerous states in regard to an intensified battle against free online pornography. Surprisingly, I’ve yet to see hentai based companies or websites enact age verification. Here’s the thing, want to know who else does age verification? CCP governments in China!
Well, that’s what they want you to believe in, but, HB3 goes beyond that. The law also bans minors from under 14 from creating accounts, and require parental consent for 14- and 15-year-olds. Recently, the law was blocked by a federal judge, with reasoning that it goes against the 1st amendment. I couldn’t believe such a law like this one was secretly installed behind the bill. Once again, according to the bill, it’s aimed to protect minors from harmful content. Websites like Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and X, are examples of social media platforms that have to comply with this law. What also bothers me is, I know that while some social media platforms have negative consequences, it could also bring out positive ones as well, and inspire youths to chase what they dream of, and even meet individuals who become close to them. What baffles me about this law is how suddenly, the government now has to baby your kids while completely throwing away parental responsibilities for guiding their children in what’s right and wrong. As someone from the oldest Gen Z group that has a lot of late millennial sensibilities, I virtually had no issue at all when I made my first Youtube account at the age of 10 years old back in 2008. I was already responsible in knowing what’s right, wrong, good, and harmful. It was the same for other social media platforms like Facebook, MyAnimeList, and other anime and manga based websites like Anispace or Xat. Now suddenly, it seems like irresponsibility has become so rife now that the government has to do everything for parents. The thing is, we know the truth, it’s not to protect the kids or hide harmful content from them, it’s to control the narrative in their favor.
Finally, hentai being mentioned. *Sigh* Hentai… Look, I get it… Hentai, also known as eroanime, or eromanga, is simply pornographic material of anime and manga. It’s just as simply as that. Again, I understand how all pornographic material is mentioned, but, I just find it so ironic how anime and manga are once again in the hot seat over controversial reasons. Just like what happened in Texas, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, and once again, Florida. I personally believe the reason why this happens often is because the Japanese narrative of sexuality is vastly different from western narratives of sexuality. Hence why hentai is sometimes often deemed as a bigger threat for these people in power simply because they aren’t familiar and are mostly ignorant about how hentai display’s it’s sexual narrative. Not to mention that hentai fulfills the sexual desires for many individuals that real life pornography can’t emulate due to laws regarding moral behavior and what’s considered taboo or not. Meanwhile, for hentai, there is no limits, and no matter how controversial it is, you will still find it in hentai over real porn, hence why these kind of deceptions motivate those in power to go after hentai more and more, even though the game they mentioned is honestly nothing special at all, really… It’s just another pornographic game that you literally find elsewhere on the internet. I’m not saying this stuff here is illegal in the states. No seriously, it’s not, you can literally buy a Touhou or Genshin Impact doujin on the internet with virtually no problem whatsoever, and there, it all belongs to you. You can thank the landmark supreme court case, United States v. Handley for that. The worrying part is, wondering if, eventually, these people in power will bring up the case again and try to crack down all anime and manga deemed obscene in the name of false safety for children. It has indeed happened in the state of Texas. I mean, look what happened to Dragon Ball…
Anyways, this is all I have to say really. It’s just another day of stupid controversy that makes no sense whatsoever. Even though I’m against pornographic material, I also find it very abusive how companies have to comply with authoritarian government laws that causes companies to suffer from censorship, fines, and mandate this disgusting big government mass surveillance law that strips the privacy of citizens because of “pron”. I get it, it’s important to keep children safe from such material, but when you start implementing 1984 styled laws to, “protect the kids”, then we have a SERIOUS problem with the system. It’s simple, parental responsibility, and communication. No need to show your entire biological identity in the name of “pron” access requested by the government. Anyways, it will be interesting to see what will happen next? My theory, probably nothing, or age verification, or they block access away from Florida, just like Denpasoft did a few months ago. Either way, this is just getting stupid now. Once again, it’s anime and manga in the hot seat. This is honestly reminding me of the 2006-2009 anime and manga controversies that rocked the late 2000s… Oh how times repeat itself…
